For private preview customers, these are the test cases we would appreciate you completing during the private preview stage of Intune Sync.

Register

If you have not yet registered on https://portal.patchmypc.com, Complete the steps outlined here

Deploy an application

We recommend testing with Applications which update regularly, for example

  • AWS Command Line Interface

  • Evernote

  • Google Chrome

  • Grammarly for Windows

  • Loom

  • Opera

  • Signal

  • VIM

Whichever app you test with, please ensure that the Patch My PC Publisher is not already managing this application and remove any existing deployments from Intune.

  1. Deploy an application to a group as Required.

    Complete the steps outlined in the App Catalog link above, ensuring you select a Required assignment in step 6

  2. Deploy an application to a group as Available

    Complete the steps outlined in the App Catalog link above, ensuring you select an Available assignment in step 6

  3. Deploy an application to a group as Update Only

    Complete the steps outlined in the App Catalog link above, ensuring you select an Update Only assignment in step 6

Ensure that applications are created in Intune

  • Browse to your Intune Apps and validate that your Required, Available and Update Only applications were created.

Ensure that devices install the Required, Available, and Update Only applications

  • Ensure that your devices and users can see and install Available applications via Company portal

  • Ensure that your devices and users have the Required applications automatically installed

  • Ensure that your devices and users have the Update Only applications automatically installed

Configure branding

  • Add Branding Intune App Name

  • Upload custom banner image

  • Ensure that the correct banner image is displayed when users are prompted to close a conflicting process

Ensure that applications are updated within Patch My PC Deployments and Intune

  1. Ensure that the next time an update to your selected applications is released by Patch My PC, it is updated successfully in the Deployments view of Patch My PC Cloud Services and in Intune

Edit existing deployment

  • Ensure that you can edit a successful deployment and that it is recreated in Intune successfully
