# What's New in the New UI Release of Patch My PC Publisher

*Applies to: Patch My PC Publisher New UI*

{% hint style="danger" %}
**PRE-RELEASE DOCUMENTATION**

This article is for the New UI Version of our Publisher, which is currently under development and in preview.

As this documentation is for a preview version, you will not find this functionality in the current release. Feel free to use this documentation to familiarize yourself with this new version before it is released.

This banner will be removed once the product is released and this article has been updated.
{% endhint %}

The New UI Version of the Patch My PC (PMPC) Publisher includes a new user interface, with the menu options now down the left-hand side of the screen rather than across the top.

Other new features and improvements include:

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th width="203" valign="top"></th><th valign="top"></th><th valign="top"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td valign="top"><a href="#ability-to-switch-themes">Ability to Switch Themes</a></td><td valign="top"><a href="#new-stats-view">New Stats View</a></td><td valign="top"><a href="#new-advanced-filtering">New Advanced Filtering</a></td></tr><tr><td valign="top"><a href="#new-grid-view">New Grid View</a></td><td valign="top"><a href="#new-copy-products">New Copy Products</a></td><td valign="top"><a href="#new-text-filter">New Text Filter</a></td></tr><tr><td valign="top"><a href="#integrated-popups">Integrated Popups</a></td><td valign="top"><a href="#integrated-popups">Separate Product Tabs</a></td><td valign="top"><a href="#separate-alerts-pages">Separate Alerts Pages</a></td></tr><tr><td valign="top"><a href="#show-dependencies">Show Dependencies</a></td><td valign="top"><a href="#service-status">Service Status</a></td><td valign="top"><a href="#feedback-function">Feedback Function</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

See the relevant section below for more details.

## Ability to Switch Themes

Clicking the **Theme** control at the bottom of the screen lets you switch between modes (such as light and dark) to find the one that suits you best.

## New Stats View

When you access an app view, we have added a new *Stats View* at the bottom of this window(toggled by using the stats view button (**1**) on the toolbar).

The green stats are installers and the others are groups of our right-click options.

Clicking any of these stats filters the catalog to display only items that match the selected stats.

## New Advanced Filtering

When you access an app view, you can now use advanced *Filtering* to make it easier to search for apps and their settings.

<figure><img src="/files/DFrYnvO6ZOEgaFbOrcyN" alt="Advanced filtering" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Available filters include:

* Any (no filter)
* Must have
* Must NOT have

## New Grid View

The new grid view not only lets you choose how you view the apps, but also shows useful app-specific information on each app’s card (including optional grouping to group all variants of an app into a single card).

## New Copy Products

Now, when you click **Copy Products**, you are prompted which tab you want to copy the selection to. Previously, the copy destination depended on which tab the copy form control was clicked from.

## New Text Filter

This text box filters the grid or product tree based on the text entered.

## Integrated Popups

In the current release of Publisher, many of the views and options are pop-ups. Where possible, these have now been integrated into the main form.

In the majority of cases, the functionality has not changed; the change is purely cosmetic.

For example, in the current release of Publisher, **Intune Options** are shown as follows.

<figure><img src="/files/o8xTn2pOaz4he4Cb0HyB" alt="&#x27;Intune Options&#x27; in the current Publisher release" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This is how **Intune Options** appear in the New UI release of Publisher.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note**

Some views and options (like the **CVE Import Wizard**) will still open as a pop-up, but you can move the pop-up and use them alongside the main Publisher window.
{% endhint %}

## Separate Product Tabs

In the New UI version of Publisher, our **Catalog Products** and **Custom Products** have been split out into separate tabs, even in the tree view. This makes it easier to find and work with the product relevant to your environment.

<figure><img src="/files/3bThmxnpm6a7skk8iPEE" alt="Separate Product Tabs" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Separate Alerts Pages

Alerts have now been split into two separate pages to make them easier to work with and to eliminate the scroll bar.

<figure><img src="/files/DjqqrKyckfVI17aeJoLZ" alt="Separate &#x27;Alerts&#x27; Pages" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Show Dependencies

You can now view (via a new icon) any dependencies the app may have, based on our metadata for each supported product.

<figure><img src="/files/2NwYZN0OwohPmWDC1JPB" alt="Show Dependencies" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This is also available in the Tree View:

## Service Status

**Sync Progress** has now been moved into the new **Service Status** tab, which will also include several useful statistics for the Publisher.

<figure><img src="/files/tUAoMgRt7eKlxfs0MCMi" alt="Service Status" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Feedback Function

The new function allows you to provide feedback to us on your experience of using the Publisher. Optionally, you can also include screenshots and logs which will help us resolve any issues you may be having faster.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.patchmypc.com/patch-my-pc-publisher/whats-new.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
