# “Unable to verify the file you are trying to upload” error in Binary Free Apps

### SYMPTOMS

I am trying to upload the application file for a Patch My PC (PMPC) Cloud Binary Free App, but after selecting the file, I get the following:

**Error**

**Unable to verify the file you are trying to upload. Please ensure you have uploaded the correct file.**

### CAUSE

This error is caused either by you selecting a file that doesn’t match the:

* Metadata we hold for the Binary Free App in our App Catalog
* Configuration set on the **General Information** tab of the Binary Free App.

For example, you could have selected an installer with the wrong:

* Version
* Language
* Architecture
* File size Installer type

### RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, ensure you are using the correct version of the file and file type.
